Junior Civitan is a community service organization for middle and high school students tailored specifically for training them to become "Builders of Good Citizenship" in the home, school, community, and nation. Its purpose is to develop initiative and leadership and to encourage youth to live a fuller life enriched by selfless service to others and focus on daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships by precept and example. Junior Civitan consists of 12,000 teen members, in 400 clubs, in the USA, Canada, Europe, Asia and Africa.

We are really looking forward to having a great year in Junior Civitan! Governor Sam Dempster and District Chairs Penny Bonawitz and Tricia McKenzie will work closely together along with other members of the District Board and Florida clubs to continue to strengthen the Florida District by increasing membership and raising public awareness of our organization. We will strive to continue as an OUTSTANDING district within Junior Civitan International.

Civitan International Research Center, our medical research facility is located at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. Research is carried out on mental and physical disabilities and diseases.
