Junior Civitan members seek to meet the needs of our world and promote progress in a world of change.
Junior Civitan's main fundraising beneficiary is the Civitan International Research Center. The Center, located at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, brings together top scientific minds, and the latest technology, to create new innovative therapies and treatments for people who have mental and physical diseases and disabilities. The money raised by Junior Civitans benefits the Family Assessment Center (FAC) within the Research Center. The FAC operates on the basic concept that developmental disabilities not only affect individuals, but also their supporting families. Junior Civitan's support enables the FAC to conduct studies and research needed to provide comprehensive family treatment.
