The first annual "Race for Research ... Run, Walk or Roll for a Cure" was held on May 22, 2010 at Sandalwood High School in Jacksonville, Florida. Junior Civitan and Civitan members worked together for this event, a 5K run, 5K walk and family friendly carnival with crafters and games following. This event in Jacksonville was the year end celebration for medical research fundraising. The Civitan International Research Center sends findings and cures to the medical community around the world. Accepting the certificate of appreciation is Bishop Moore's Zachary Rivera (right), 2009-2010 Lieutenant Governor of Orlando and incoming 2010-2011 Florida Junior Civitan Governor. 
Medical Research - Raising money for medical research: head injury, spinal cord injury, seizures, Alzheimer's, Parkinsons Disease, Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis, brain cancer and many other physical and mental disabilities. Convinced cures will be found, teens join adults to make a difference.
