Florida Junior Civitan Governor, Zachary Rivera, represented Florida Junior Civitan members at the annual fund raising event held in Canada for the Civitan International (medical) Research Center at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. After working very hard to raise funds for medical research, Zachary earned the right to attend Sno-Do in Barrie, ON, Canada, driving a snow mobile and visiting Niagara Falls. Zachary secured donations from businesses, individuals and Civitans, earning the Round Tuit Award for the most donations outside of Civitan. Zachary has just been accepted for Pre-Med at universities in Florida. Many Congratulations Zachary. You are a true leader and excellent mentor to younger Junior Civitans. We are all behind you as you seek to found a Campus Club at university! Zachary is pictured with a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

2010-2011 Junior Civitans are "Making Waves Through Service!"

“I am a Junior Civitan:
An aware citizen of today,
The standing promise of tomorrow.

I seek to meet the needs of our world,
To be progressive in a world of change
With compassion and understanding for
The values and traditions of the past.

I value the security of knowing
That wherever I am
I will always be within reach
Of a fellow Civitan.

I dedicate myself
To society and to my fellow man
With a commitment
To make the world a better place.”
